South African Tourism’s 21st Annual India Roadshow Launches in New Delhi, Ushering in a New Era of Dynamic Travel Collaborations with Over 500 Industry Professionals

Demand for South African travel experiences from India is on the rise, with family, adventure, and luxury tourism driving the trend. Featuring 15% new offerings, the roadshow in New Delhi attracted more than 500 Indian travel trade agents to the capital.

Capitalizing on the rising interest in travel, South African Tourism launched the 21st edition of its Annual India Roadshow in New Delhi. Under the leadership of Mr. Gcobani Mancotywa, Regional General Manager for Asia, Australia, and the Middle East at South African Tourism, the event provided a key platform for strengthening business ties, responding to changing traveler preferences, and exploring fresh growth prospects.

The roadshow featured 40 exhibitors and drew over 500 Indian travel trade professionals to the capital. As part of its continued efforts to strengthen ties with the Indian market, the roadshow will proceed to Chennai on March 19th and Mumbai on March 20th, 2025, to foster stronger trade collaborations and boost outbound tourism to South Africa.

New Delhi continues to be a pivotal source market for South African Tourism, standing out as one of India’s most vibrant travel hubs. With a growing appetite for diverse travel experiences, Delhi residents are drawn to a combination of luxury shopping and adrenaline-pumping adventures. In 2024, 77% of New Delhi’s travelers to South Africa expressed a keen interest in shopping, while 21% were attracted to adventure activities, underscoring the demand for both leisure and excitement. Acknowledging this shift in traveler preferences, South African Tourism is strategically engaging with the city’s travel trade community to highlight its varied offerings and enhance the destination’s allure in the region.

As South Africa prepares to take on the G20 Presidency in 2025, tourism is poised to play a crucial role in strengthening global travel alliances and promoting sustainable growth. Moving forward, the tourism board is dedicated to expanding its footprint in India through continued trade collaboration, consumer engagement programs, and creative marketing efforts.
